Hello!
I’m writing to you in the winter sun. This morning’s frost has burnt off, the sun is bright, the air is clear and cold, and I’ve just had a bowl of dal with coriander chutney and loads of chilli for breakfast. My tummy is happy, it’s good to be home, and I’m ready to activate winter mode. To shut the front gate and be at home for a while.
If you feel the need for some peace and slowness too, we hope this newsletter might provide some inspiration for things to read and cook in the quiet hours.
And if you like the sound of the dal mentioned above, please scroll on down for the recipe.

Hello from one of my favourite reading nooks!
The seasons have definitely changed in Sydney and while it’s not quite winter, the mornings and evenings are becoming quite chilly which is making choosing to read rather than go out quite appealing! What has also been appealing for me is the number of new releases that I am excited to read during this season of hibernation.
In this newsletter, I thought I would share my excitement by writing some thoughts on what I am reading now, what I am looking forward to reading next and also the ways our reading can help us understand something more deeply about ourselves or our lives. If you are in a reading slump, see if any of our suggestions below pique your interest.
