S3E2 Show Notes (A Gentleman in Moscow)
Where we discuss the wisdom of A Gentleman in Moscow, how it is a great example of bibliotherapy, obscure pieces of cutlery and when to persevere with reading and cooking!
Welcome back to our usual format of a conversation about one book we have both read, and for this month, it was A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. It was loved by us both, but it took Sophie a while to get into it, which raises the question, also posed by our letter writer… when or for how long should we persevere with a book or recipe?
It’s a far-ranging conversation about reading for pleasure, the ways literature can inform us more than history books, those books that can stir wisdom throughout our lives and how a step-by-step tutorial by Sophie could turn all of us home cooks into pastry chefs! Germaine also discovers that she owns a kitchen implement Sophie hasn’t heard of … grape scissors (pictured above)! Click below to hear more.
