The Oxford dictionary defines optimism as ‘hopefulness and confidence about the future or the success of something.’ This is the theme of today’s episode of the podcast (if you haven’t listened yet, here’s a link).

In this one, how when we pick up a book, make our bed, cook, plant or do anything, we are being optimistic in some way. And while these might feel like small moments, they’re also a meaningful assertion that things can be better.

We hope you enjoy this episode; we loved recording it and collecting all 20 good things to be optimistic about, listed below. Plus there’s a recipe for hot cross buns (because what’s more optimistic than combining yeast, flour, butter, spices and a little sugar in the hope that in the end you’ll have beautiful fragrant buns to slather in salted butter and top with jam?).
