Summer Reading Episode - Show Notes
Eight books we loved this summer, and nourishing things to eat and read in heavy times.
Is summer/holiday reading different to ‘normal reading’? Yes! We think so at least. And probably the main difference is that we have more time to actually sit down with our books. That on holidays, ‘reading’ can be the day, or at least a few hours’ activity. It’s not a matter of jumping into bed exhausted after a big day of work and then staying awake for more than one page.
The shape of our “summers” also impacts the shape of this holiday reading and we noticed the difference in Germaine’s overseas travel reading and Sophie’s home/beach reading.
We both read quite a lot these past couple of months and got together to talk about the books that kept us company this summer. We hope you enjoyed this episode. Have you read any of the books we cover? What did you think of them?
After our reading round-up, we answer a listener letter and as always, prescribe her something to eat and something to read. This one is beautiful and sad and we felt very honoured that our writer chose to share her experience with us.
So. If you haven’t listened to this one yet, you can do so here. Otherwise, here are the episode’s shownotes. Thank you as always to our subscribers whose support means we can keep on recording this monthly podcast. We are so grateful to you.
