Taking a little break!

We're hitting pause this month while we catch up on some reading, eating and travelling...

Hello and firstly, thank you so much for being a supporter of Something to Eat and Something to Read. We appreciate it so much.

Secondly, this is a short note to let you know that we’re taking a bit of a break from the pod - just until early November. Sophie is away for much of the next few weeks and instead of rushing an episode, we decided a slower reading and reflecting experience would be more satisfying for us and you.

So we’ve hit pause on your subscription until November 8th.

Our next pod will be out around then and the ‘book guest’ we’ve chosen is Kaliane Bradley’s The Ministry of Time. Hopefully this extra time (pardon the pun) will allow us all a chance to read and think about the ‘shape’ it left on us!!

There are also a couple of new releases that have caught our eye, both memoirs about food, joy and life. A perfect fit and hopefully this break will allow more time to indulge in these small joys!

Sophie has just started reading Ben Shewry’s Uses for Obsession and will report back. But so far, so very good (and fascinating!).

We’re also looking forward to Virginia Trioli’s ode to the small joys of life!

And Nigel’s new book looks and sounds deligfhtful. Of course. Here he is reading a passage about his love of the larder.
