Hello! It’s been a while between pods, but we’re back (almost) for season two of Something to Eat and Something to Read and can’t wait to get stuck in to lots of reading, eating and chatting about both.
Season 2 book list
Here is our Season 2 book list. We’d love you to read along with us, but as always, you don’t need to have read the book to enjoy the episode.
Language of Food, Annabel Abbs (historical novel)
Dinner with Edward, Isabel Vincent (memoir)
Lessons in Chemistry, Bonnie Garmus (novel)
With the Fire on High, Elizabeth Acevedo (novel)
The Year of Miracles, Ella Risbridger (memoir)
The Beautiful Words, Vanessa McCausland (novel)
Dinner with the Schnabels, Toni Jordan (novel)
Episode 1 of Season two is coming out next Friday. Here we are below, recording it in person last week. It will be live on Friday 26th of July, and we’ll email it right to your inbox on the day.
Season 2 Letters
This season we will continue to answer listener letters with a book and recipe recommendation to help navigate life’s twists and turns. Please write to us, we love connecting in this way. We are also hoping that some people may like the idea of voice recording their letter. If this appeals more than writing, please send your voice memo to Sophie at sophie_hansen@me.com or Germaine at newchaptersbibliotherapy@gmail.com
Thanks to Single Vineyards we have been able to gift a case of Highgate wine to each episode’s letter writer and will continue to do so for this season.
Supporting our work
We LOVE making this podcast and writing this newsletter but to make it a sustainable long-term endeavour, we do need to cover our costs. So… while the podcast will always be free to listen to, moving forwards, we are inviting supporters to subscribe to the tune of one coffee a month ($5).
Paid subscribers ($5/month) will receive our undying love, plus a newsletter every fortnight with all the recipes, book recommendations from our podcast, author interviews and more.
Thank you.
Catching up!
If you’re new here and would like to catch up on any (or all) of the eight episodes we’ve already published (season 1), you can now listen right here in Substack, via Apple podcasts or wherever you like to do your podding.
